Infopreneuring
For those of you who don't know
what "infopreneuring" is, an infopreneur is an entrepreneur who
creates and/or sells information. That information can be in the
form of physical books, ebooks, CDs and video tapes ... any
format used for communicating information.
You will likely see many
opportunities posted in the recommended market listings and on
the freelance project sites to write an information product for
someone else. You will also likely see project opportunities to
write the marketing and promotional materials for information
products. But if you're interested in creating or expanding
your own business by developing products to promote and sell for
profit, or even selling others' products and services, who better to excel in the infopreneuring arena than a
writer? Your ability and talents give you an inherent advantage
by already knowing how to string words together that can inform,
persuade, describe, and entice.
I have a bookshelf (and hard
drive!) full of products I've purchased to learn the ins and
outs of building a successful information empire. As with every
other resource listed in these pages, I have my favorites -- the
ones I go back to over and over again. It should come as no
surprise that the resources I rely on most are from well-known
developers. And the reason they are so well-known is because
they build their businesses by being focused on what their customers
need and want. They have also passed the test of time. I have
several older products that I would normally consider 5 star
status but, sadly, those companies are now defunct. They lacked
longevity and can't offer support, updates, advice, or new
products and services to help their customers continue to succeed.
I'm not going to waste my time or
yours telling you about products that I DON'T like ... and
believe me, there are many that I felt I really got "taken" on.
There are also several really good resources and
developers that I will review in future issues of the Monday
Muse. But the following recommendations are my 'no fail'
favorites from upwards of 50 different programs I've invested in
over the years. I love the business I've built as an infopreneur,
where my writing talent takes a lead role to its success. If
that kind of business sounds like something you'd
like to explore, then I highly recommend you begin your
expedition here:
If you know nothing about the
business of infopreneuring this is a great place to start your
education -- and build a profitable business at the same time.
What could be more satisfying than doing what you love (writing)
and giving people information that helps them do what they love?
I'm proud to tell people I'm in the information business and
thanks to Matt Gill and Kevin Wilke I know how to reach the
people who want the information that I have to sell.
Matt and Kevin are well-known
Internet business "gurus" and I have always benefited from the
products they develop as well as from the recommendations they
make. They led me to Roger Parker's
Profit from the Author Inside You, which was actually written
for business people who are not writers but who could greatly
benefit from the credibility that comes with being a published
author. If Parker can teach non-writers how to build a
profitable information empire, image how much of a head start
you have by already being a writer!
Do you have hobbies that you are
passionate about? Do you have a skill or talent that you could
teach to others? If so, you can build a business around writing
for those audiences. In fact, if you have a natural curiosity
and love to thoroughly research and write about any kind of
topic, you can easily turn self-assigned projects into many
different profitable income streams by organizing that research
into saleable information.
Not convinced if infopreneuring is
for you? That's okay! You can get
Profit from the Author Inside You completely
RISK FREE along with four
special bonuses that are yours to keep even if you decide the
business is not for you. But I'm betting that, once you learn
about infopreneuring, you'll be hooked -- just like me.

Marlon Sanders, creator of
The
Amazing Formula, is one of the most familiar names on
the Internet and has been for many years. He creates "smart"
products, designed to educate, automate, and eliminate perceived
barriers of building and marketing a business.
My "5 minus 1" star rating for
this resource may look a little odd, but here's why it is shown
that way:
1) The
Amazing Formula is actually a resource about marketing, not
"infopreneuring" per se -- marketing any product and service
online or offline. However, once you start reading this
resource, it will quickly become clear how the information
directly relates and dovetails with your talents as a writer. It
is actually the success formula for an infopreneuring business.
And, if you are a freelancer, you already know how marketing is
your key to attracting and keeping clients.
2) The Web site describing the Amazing Formula is a little akin
to over-hyped sites that promise the world and deliver very
little (sorry, Marlon!). Don't let the too-good-to-be-true
appearance fool you. This product, although recently completely
revised and updated, is 7 years old and still going strong. It
wouldn't last if it didn't deliver on its' promises.
By referral, I purchased
The
Amazing Formula 5 years ago when I started getting serious
about finding a way to run an online business without losing my
offline client base. And it was just the system I needed. Since
then I've purchased many great resources, but whenever I start
feeling overwhelmed with all of the information overload and
different advice about what to do and how to do it, I reach for
The
Amazing Formula to put me back on track. It's my 'go to'
guide. At $67 bucks, it's a bargain investment for your
business. And, if you buy it and don't agree, you have ONE FULL
YEAR to return it for a full refund!
Like other marketers, Marlon offers you bribes for trying the product, but I pay more
attention to the testimonials. I've personally done business
with one of them (David Frey) and, like me, he doesn't endorse
ANYTHING that he doesn't fully support. It's just that good, and
you owe it to yourself -- and your writing business -- to
discover what it can do for you.

and The Internet Marketing Center, is the 'end all, be all' for
Internet and e-mail marketing. If you do nothing else but sign
up for his (free) newsletter, you'll already have taken a step
toward bigger profits from your business. This product gets a 4 plus 1 star rating
because:
1) Insider Secrets is designed
to specifically help you develop an online business, either from
scratch or by helping you take your offline business to
cyberspace. While it is not strictly focused on setting up an
information business (the reason for 4 instead of 5 stars), you
quickly see that Derek highly recommends infopreneuring as one
of the most lucrative of all online businesses. And why not?
Derek himself thrives on it!
Insider
Secrets excels at helping you build your online presence and
promotion.
2) As with Marlon's site,
there are some too-good-to-be-true statements made that sound
over the top, but aren't. Pay attention to the testimonials --
in fact, contact some of the people who wrote them if you like
-- you'll soon discover that
Insider
Secrets has quite literally changed people's lives.
3) Derek is currently running an
offer to test drive
Insider
Secrets for just $2.95! (Thus,
the +1 star). What could be more risk-free than to be
able to review the information and take it for a test drive for
less than the price of a good cup of coffee and the morning
newspaper?
This is a true system that
contains the exact step-by-step blueprint you need to follow to
start a profitable online business, or turn an existing offline
business into an online profit-making machine!
Derek's system is perfect for YOU if...
- You want to start
your own profit generating Internet business -- from scratch -- in as
little as 48 hours and see profits in your first week.
- You want to take
your offline business online, and open new doors to tap into the
massive profit generating potential of the global market.
If you are at all intrigued about your own potential
to run a successful Internet business -- whether it's a writing
